What is a Dietitian?
Accredited Practising Dietitian’s (APDs) are experts in food and nutrition. They can advise patients on the specific nutritional management of many heath conditions such as diabetes, overweight and obesity, cancer, heart disease, renal disease, gastrointestinal diseases and food allergies. Timely intervention by a dietitian can reduce the risk of developing chronic disease.
Services
Dietitians offer a broad range services. These may include:
- Community and Public health Nutrition including consultation to residential aged care facilities, child care centres and group homes for people with disability regarding clinical care, staff training, menu assessment and planning and compliance monitoring of therapeutic diets
- Medical Nutrition Therapy (clinical care) with patients including assessment and nutritional education/counselling, enteral/parenteral nutrition monitoring
and evaluation - Food service Management which can be at Community Health centres running nutrition education sessions (such as supermarket tours, cooking classes, diabetes education and cardiovascular education).
Although there are a wider range of triggers for referring patients to a dietitian, key factors include:
- Significant weight change
- Failure to meet nutrition needs
- Recent poor food intake, poor appetite, or difficulty preparing or eating food
- Changes in medication
- Periodic review of medical nutrition therapy.
Child & Family Dental Care
We support families with education and guidance to promote lifelong oral health. Many children are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS), covering basic dental services.
Our practice accepts all major health funds and offers payment plans through DentiCare.
Meet Cecilia Leung

Cecilia obtained her Bachelor of Nutrition (Hon) from the University of Surrey in the UK, before relocating to Adelaide, where she completed her Master of Nutrition and Dietetic at Flinders University. She is a member of Dietitian Australia and an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Cecilia is able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients.
She has a strong interest in chronic disease management, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, irritable bowel disease, and food intolerances. Believing that every individual is unique, she is committed to providing personalised and evidence-based recommendations.
Cecilia is passionate about delivering a holistic and tailored approach to nutrition, with the goal of empowering her clients to improve their health and quality of life through informed dietary choices.
